Local

Stayen is located in the heart of Haspengouw, known for its blossom and history. When you walk out of the hotel you immediately reach the hiking and cycling routes. There is an exciting 5.7 km hiking trail (this can be shortened to 2.9 km).

The fruit giants of Sint-Truiden will send you on your way during the treasure hunt through the beautiful Fruit Valley. Along the way, you can enjoy the delicious scents and colours of the fruit orchards that show their best every season. The quest is fun for young and old alike. On the route, you will pass many picnic tables and resting benches so be sure to take some goodies along the way.

The weekly market takes place on Saturdays from 7am to 1pm at Sint-Truiden's Grote Markt. There are more than 130 market stallholders offering daily fresh produce, textiles and more. There are also numerous museums to visit in the region. Moreover, thanks to the Trudo pass, you can experience various activities at a cheaper price. But Sint-Truiden is more than just museums and walking-cycling routes. The impressive LAGO swimming pool guarantees fun in the water for young and old. Go wild in the wave pool or the wild water rapids, race against your family in the double slide or go crazy in the tyre slide with virtual reality glasses.

If you've seen it all in St-Truiden, visit Belgium's oldest city, Tongeren! You can get there by car in just 30 minutes. Upon entering the city, you'll still encounter the old city walls in some places. The city has been preserved in its old state. Would you like to delve into Tongeren's Roman roots? Then be sure to visit the Gallo Roman Museum. Prefer a day of shopping? Then Hasselt is definitely a must, also a 30-minute drive away. Hasselt is known for its shopping streets, culinary delights, the Fashion and Gin Museum. Finally, you can totally indulge your nature heart in Bokrijk. Yep, this too is only 30 minutes by car. A visit to the historic open-air museum is a true trip back in time. Immerse yourself in a rich past thanks to the beautiful houses and museum pieces. The experience is enlivened by the many actors roaming the grounds, decked out in period outfits.

In short, Sint-Truiden, and by extension Limburg, is one lump of entertainment. Now it is up to you to choose what you will be surprised by first!
